AFC Wimbledon forward to miss Barrow clash after receiving international call up

Ali Al-Hamadi will miss AFC Wimbledon’s League Two clash at Barrow on March 25 after receiving a call-up to the Iraqi national side.

Al-Hamadi will be a part of the Iraq squad that will travel to Saint Petersburg to play Russia in a friendly.

The match is due to take place on March 26, with the 21-year-old leaving for international duty after Wimbledon’s home clash against Crawley next Saturday.

The former Wycombe forward, who joined the Dons in the January transfer window, has scored five goals in his first 10 appearances for the South Londoners.

Al-Hamadi has three senior appearances to his name for the Iraqi national side.

A statement on Wimbledon’s website said: “We’d like to wish Ali all the very best whilst he is away with his country.”
