AFC Wimbledon keeper joins Nottingham Forest after release

Harry Griffiths has joined Premier League side Nottingham Forest after he was released by AFC Wimbledon.

The 18-year-old keeper was not offered a professional deal by the Dons at the end of the last campaign, with his scholarship expiring this summer.

He featured five times on the bench for Johnnie Jackson’s first team last season.

Griffiths will link up with Forest’s academy side.

AFC Wimbledon academy manager Michael Hamilton said: “We wish Harry all the best for his future. He’s a talented young man, one we are proud of & we thank for representing the academy during his time here”

Manni Norkett from Manchester United and Will Brook from Leeds United have also joined Forest’s academy.

Nottingham Forest’s Assistant Academy Manager, Chris McGuane, said: “We are delighted to welcome Harry, Manni and Will to the club at such an exciting time.

“Each of them bring their own qualities and experience which we hope to add to an already very strong group as we continue to look to significantly enhance our academy provision.

“Together, with the first team, we hope to create new opportunities for players of the highest potential and look forward to bringing the boys on that journey as we view them as exciting prospects for the future.”
