Casper De Norre makes it big week in Championship for Millwall as boss Harris admits to ‘ugly’ victory
Millwall manager Neil Harris was delighted to win an “ugly” contest as his side ran out 1-0 winners against Swansea City this afternoon.
Casper De Norre struck in stoppage time to seal the Lions’ first Championship away win of the season and second victory this week following Wednesday’s 1-0 success over Plymouth Argyle at The Den.
“It was ugly, it was in some ways very Millwall-like,” Harris told MillwallTV
“Firstly, thank you to the fans that came today. Iit’s a long way to come, as I know from managing up the road, and they had to watch us this afternoon when we weren’t particularly good at times.
“But when we talk about Neil Harris teams – especially as Millwall manager – then I talk about if we don’t play very well then you have to do the basics which is compete, run, keep the ball out of the net and be disciplined in what you do. We did that, we did the real basics right today in key moments to stay strong.”
Swansea had 71 per cent possession but they have failed to score in five successive Championship games.

Harris said. “They were dominant in possession. We got our shape slightly wrong in the first half, second half we were much better. Swansea had a lot of the ball and shots on our goal but we had some of the better chances – we just didn’t quite capitalise with a moment of quality.
“We just found a moment out of nothing, we knew the transitions were going to be key and they were. Swansea dominated the football and made a lot of sideways passes and we allowed them to do it but, the transitions were going to be key and they were. Lukas (Jensen) had to make a couple of good saves and our best moments came from them as well.
“Today we probably got a bit more than what we deserved if I’m honest. It’s brilliant, it’s how football works. We know that, you don’t always get what you deserve. We will certainly be happy with the three points.”
