Charlton Athletic Women’s 2022-23 Player of the Year pens new one-year deal

Charlton Athletic have announced that 2022/23 Player of the Year Beth Roe has penned a new one-year contract with the Addicks.

The 23-year-old made the move to South London from Brighton and Hove Albion in 2021 and has made 63 Charlton appearances to date.

The full-back netted twice in the 2022/23 campaign – including the all-important winner in a 1-0 triumph against Southampton at The Valley in March 2023.

Upon signing her new deal, Roe said: “I’m very happy to have signed a new contract with the club and am looking forward to getting going again.

“Last season was a bit of a rollercoaster, but ultimately wasn’t where we wanted to finish as a team. We knew we were capable of more, but we built on the foundations that were set in the first season and made further progress with a lot more positive outcomes.

“I’m ready to get going again now and, as a team, we head into pre-season ready to push the limits of what we can achieve in this season.”
