Charlton star Famewo: ‘Without the fans it didn’t feel proper. Now we’ve got unfinished business’

Akin Famewo reckons the Charlton Athletic supporters could make the difference in the Addicks promotion push this season.
Famewo spent the 2020-21 campaign on loan with the Addicks, where he made 22 appearances for the South London club.
Charlton have signed the defender on another season-long loan – and have included an option to buy in the deal.
“I’m very excited to be honest,” Famewo told Charlton’s club website.
“I’m looking forward to it. Even though I was here last year, it will be the first game in front of all the fans. It will be good to be in front of the fans with the crowd roaring.
“It’s what they say is the 12th man.
“It will be a massive backing to hear them cheering us on and keeping us guided. It’s built a lot of excitement around the camp. Everyone’s really excited to get back playing football properly again because without the fans it didn’t really feel proper.
“It’s going to feel like a massive unit I feel, everyone together properly this time. It’s going to be the full experience.
“We’ve got unfinished business so hopefully we can pick up from where we were last year.
“We finished on a good little run, so hopefully we’ll continue that and take it throughout the whole season this time.
“The mood’s been very positive around the training ground. We had a good pre-season so everyone’s good and looking forward to the start of the season, the first game. Everyone’s positive and we’re ready to go.”
