Charlton to resume season with pivotal game at Hull

Charlton boss Lee Bowyer now knows the measure of his task in keeping his side up this season – and that it is in their power to achieve it.

The Addicks resume the season at Hull City’s KCOM Stadium, against the side they most need to overcome to avoid relegation.

The Tigers sit one place and two points above them  in the Championship table, having snatched a point with an equaliser in the last minute of the 2-2 draw at The Valley on December 13.

Then the players get a break of a week before a home contest against QPR (3pm), which begins four weeks of eight games, with midweek matches falling on a Tuesday – until the final contest of the season against promotion favourites Leeds at Elland Road on Wednesday July 22. The visit of Millwall falls on Tuesday July 4.

The other games are as follows:

Tuesday, June 30: Cardiff City (7.45pm – Cardiff City Stadium)

Saturday, July 4: Millwall (3pm – The Valley)

Tuesday, July 7: Brentford (7.45pm – Griffin Park)

Saturday, July 11: Reading (3pm – The Valley)

Tuesday, July 14: Birmingham City (7.45pm – St Andrew’s)

Saturday, July 18: Wigan Athletic (3pm – The Valley)

Wednesday, July 22: Leeds United (TBC – Elland Road)
