Charlton up-and-coming youngster goes on loan to SPL Ross County in the Highlands – and could be up against Rangers then Celtic in next four games
Charlton goalkeeping prodigy Ashley Maynard-Brewer has joined Scottish Premiership side Ross County on a season-long loan.
The 22-year-old has not made a first team league appearance for the Addicks since signing a professional deal in 2018 – but played in four cup games for them last term.
Charlton Athletic have confirmed that there is a six-month break clause, that either side can activate.
Maynard-Brewer has made two appearances for Australia’s under-23 side after he made his debut in 2021. He was also in the Olyroos squad which took part in Tokyo 2020, including a shock 2-0 victory over Argentina.
Ross County manager, Malky Mackay said: “I am delighted to have Ashley joining us. He comes highly recommended to us as a very talented young goalkeeper, one that will bring competition to our group.
“He has had a terrific experience representing his country at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and we are excited to bring that calibre of goalkeeper to our club.
“Ashley has come through one of the most well respected academy’s in the UK, and we would like to thank Charlton Athletic FC for allowing us to help further develop his career.”
