Clapham’s Sims powers to 14th in lockdown Formula E race

Formula E driver Alexander Sims from Clapham finished in 14th place in round two of the ABB Formula E Race at Home Challenge, in support of UNICEF, on Saturday.

Sim is now in 15th place in the championship after two rounds of the online racing series. Max Guenther from BMW i Andretti Motorsport won the main race from the Formula E grid.

The ABB Formula E Race at Home Challenge features two separate grids running in parallel, one comprised of drivers from the ABB FIA Formula E Championship and the challenge grid filled by some of the fastest gamers and influencers.

The online events use a Race Royale format that is specific to gaming, where the last-placed driver at the end of each lap is eliminated.

Sims will feature in round three of the series on Saturday 9 May, live across BBC platforms from 16:20 BST.
