Crystal Palace assistant manager Ray Lewington has tested positive for Covid-19 and is self-isolating.
Lewington, 64, was absent from the sidelines for the Eagles’ 3-2 defeat against West Ham United on Tuesday night.
Palace manager Roy Hodgson confirmed that his long-standing sidekick is “not feeling too bad” with his symptoms and will be retested before he can rejoin the club’s first-team bubble.
“We think he caught the virus from a household member and he’s tested positive. He’s not feeling too bad, luckily, so it will be a question of retesting towards the end of his isolation period to give him the green light.
“It is always important to have your assistant with you in games. We missed him. He’s having to isolate at the moment because of the coronavirus, so we’re going to have to wait until that isolation period is over before we can welcome him back.
“I don’t think there is so much more tonight he could have done to help us – because neither he nor I play. It is the players who play and they accept they were below their best.”

If CP was not good enough, then who should take ultimate responsibility? They were good enough for three minutes and then the coach “put a lid on it”.
