Dons duo selected for Asia Cup duty
AFC Wimbledon strikers Ali Al-Hamadi and Omar Bugiel have been called up to represent Iraq and Lebanon respectively at the upcoming 2023 Asia Cup in Qatar.
Al-Hamadi has been selected for Jesus Casas’ Iraq squad as they have been drawn in Group D with Japan, Indonesia and Vietnam.

Bugiel – who joined the Dons on a free transfer from Sutton in the summer – has been named in Miodrag Radulovic’s Lebanon squad in Group A with Qatar, China and Tajikistan.
Ex-Tranmere and Swansea youngster Al-Hamadi has 16 goals and seven assists in all competitions for Johnnie Jackson this season.
Bugiel has five goals and three assists to his name in 30 appearances for the Dons.
The duo will be available for the New Year’s Day game away to Forest Green.
The tournament is set to run from January 12 to February 10.
