EFL Cup first round draw details for Millwall, Charlton and AFC Wimbledon
Millwall have been drawn away to Cambridge United in the first round of the EFL Cup.
The Lions played the U’s last year at The Den in exactly the same competition, which resulted in a 3-1 Millwall win.
The South London club have the upper hand when it comes to past matches against Cambridge, winning eight, drawing four and losing five.
Charlton Athletic will host Queens Park Rangers at The Valley – the Championship side travelling just across the capital for the tie.
The Addicks lost in the first round last year, when Paul Osew’s first-half strike gave AFC Wimbledon a 1-0 win.
Charlton won the last meeting between the two sides when Darren Pratley’s header in the 12th minute gave them all three points.
AFC Wimbledon will host Gillingham in the first round, just like they will for the first game of the League Two campaign a week prior to that.
The two sides were both relegated last season.
