Ex-Millwall winger makes EFL transfer return after Den summer departure

Former Millwall winger Tyler Burey has joined League One Oxford United on loan for the rest of the season from Danish Super League team Odense.

Burey left the Lions in the summer, with Oxford keen on a deal for the ex-AFC Wimbledon youngster in the previous window, to join Odense on a permanent deal.

The 23-year-old winger made 53 Championship appearances for Millwall and scored three goals.

Burey has made 12 appearances in all competitions for the Danish side before coming back to England.

“He is an exciting player to watch,” head coach Des Buckingham told oufc.co.uk.

“He is quick, loves to take players on, and fills an important position within the squad. There were plenty of other clubs interested in him and we’re really pleased that he chose Oxford.”

Head of recruitment Ed Waldron added: “He is a player who has been on our radar for a couple of years at least and that continued in Denmark.

“He stretches the game with his pace and has good delivery so we hope he comes in, makes an instant impact and plays a part in a successful second half of the season.”
