Exeter City forward to miss Charlton Athletic clash due to ‘disciplinary matter’

Exeter City forward Jevani Brown will miss tomorrow’s clash against Charlton Athletic due to a club disciplinary matter.

The 28-year-old was subject to interest from Portsmouth on deadline day, but no deal materialised and Brown stayed at St James Park.

Jamaican international Brown, who is out of contract at the end of the season, has scored 14 goals and recorded 12 this campaign for Exeter in all competitions.

A club statement said: ‘Jevani Brown did not train with the team today and will not play in tomorrow’s game against Charlton Athletic due to a club disciplinary matter.’

Gary Caldwell’s side are 10th in the third tier and host Dean Holden’s Addicks tomorrow.

Speaking on the interest in Brown in the winter window, Caldwell said: “There were two bids to be exact and they weren’t really bids that took too much time to consider.

“We value Jevani very highly. He is a player that has the second-highest goal contributions in the league this season and has really thrived at this level and shows his quality every week.”
