Former Millwall midfielder makes Dulwich Hamlet move

Dulwich Hamlet have signed midfielder Alfie Allen after he was released by Millwall this summer.

Allen came through the Lions academy and helped the club win the Professional Development League national play-off against Sheffield United in May.

Only Chin Okoli and Niino Adom-Malaki played more matches than Allen for Kevin Nugent’s young Millwall side last season.

“I’m looking forward to taking the next step in my career into men’s football, which I have not experienced before, and seeing how things pan out,” Allen told Dulwich’s website.

“The fact that Dulwich are also a big club at this level and should be playing higher also helped me make the decision to come here and the passion of the coaches.

“I had a really good season last year and now I’m looking at the next step as a positive one and after two trophies last year, hopefully I can win another one, or promotion during the new season.”

Dulwich have re-signed winger Luke Wanadio for his third spell at Champion Hill. The 30-year-old played for the club during the 2014-15 and 2018-19 campaigns. He had spells at Dartford and Billericay Town since leaving the club in 2019.

“The coaches have shown great ambition in their drive to want to win the league,” said Wanadio.
