Huddersfield Town v Charlton Athletic team news: Three changes for crunch relegation battle clash as an influential midfield man returns to the squad
BY LOUIS MENDEZ
George Lapslie is rewarded for his two recent impressive cameos with a start as Charlton travel for a crucial relegation six-pointer with Huddersfield Town – with Jonny Williams fit enough to feature on the bench.
The young midfielder comes in as one of three changes from the side that suffered a last-ditch defeat against Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough in midweek.
Aidan McGeady and Andre Green also return to the starting line-up whilst Williams is involved in the squad for the first time since suffering a freak injury in training just over a fortnight ago.
Tom Lockyer misses out through suspension after picking up his 10thyellow card of the season in midweek – so Deji Oshilaja and captain Jason Pearce will form the heart of the Addicks defence at the John Smith’s Stadium.
Birmingham loanee David Davis and striker Macauley Bonne both drop to the bench.
Charlton: Phillips, Doughty, Pearce, Oshilaja, Matthews, Cullen, Lapslie, McGeady, Oztumer, Taylor, Green. Subs: Amos, Purrington, Williams, Bonne, Smith, Hemed, Davis.
