Josh Neufville produces ‘standout’ semi-final play-off moment as Dons clinch Wembley clash

AFC Wimbledon manager Johnnie Jackson was delighted with Josh Neufville’s difference-making finish as his side secured their place in the League two play-off final at Wembley on June 26.
The South Londoners carried a one-goal advantage into the tie after Riley Harbottle scored the only goal of the first leg at Meadow Lane.
A stellar strike from Neufville doubled the lead inside 10 minutes of yesterday’s reverse fixture.
Neufville’s goal was his fifth of the campaign. He got in behind the County backline before lifting a delicate finish over Magpies keeper Alex Bass.
It came just days after Neufville swept the board for the club’s main player awards.
Jackson said: “That goal is the standout moment over both legs, isn’t it? He won the Player of the Year, and all that stuff, so we know how good he has been this season, how consistent he has been.

“He has been excellent for us so we are really pleased for him that he gets that moment, that reward, in a huge profile game because he has deserved it all season.

“It was a great finish. He saw the keeper off his line, and was able to execute.”
