Liverpool loan signing Sheyi Ojo targeting goals and assists and expressing himself for Millwall

By Kai Bennett

Sheyi Ojo is excited to have signed for the Lions on a season-long loan deal – and gives Millwall fans an indication of what to expect from him this season.

Deadline day signing Ojo, has had seven loan spells away from Liverpool since signing for them in 2015, with Millwall his eighth temporary spell away from Anfield.

Ojo said: “It’s my first day here and all the boys have been very welcoming. I’ve spoke to the gaffer briefly as well and he has said positive things, so it’s been a good day and I’m looking forward to it.

“We spoke on the phone [before the move] and he said he really likes me as a player and has watched me for a couple of years now.

“He said he wants to give me the platform to express myself and show what I can do.

“The most important thing for me is to play football and show what I can do, and I’m thankful to Millwall who have given me the platform to do that.”

The 24-year-old notched up five goals and seven assists during his time at Cardiff City last season.

When asked what he will bring to the Millwall team, Ojo replied: “Courage to get on the ball as much as I can, beat players and get a few goals and assists.

“I want to help my team in anyway I can. I’ve been a team player over the last few years and I’m looking to do that again and progressing even further.”
