Manchester City given injury boost to two key players already ahead of Crystal Palace FA Cup Final

Crystal Palace have already been dealt a blow ahead of their FA Cup Final against Manchester City – with Pep Guardiola confirming that Rodri and Erling Haaland are both back in training.

Rodri, 28, has been missing since September after suffering an ACL injury in a 2-2 draw with Arsenal.

Spanish midfielder Rodri underwent surgery on the injury but is now back in full training and has two weeks to prepare for the clash at Wembley.

Striker Haaland suffered an ankle injury in the 2-1 FA Cup quarter-final win over Bournemouth in March.

Oliver Glasner’s side set up their final against City after a 3-0 win over Aston Villa in the semi-final.

The tie will take place on Saturday, May 17.

“We are really pleased Erling is back and Rodri is back in the training sessions,” said the former Barcelona boss.

“The moment the physio and doctor say that Rodri can start to play minutes and after that he will start to play minutes. But the doctors have to tell me.

“It was a difficult injury. It was seven months to 11 months more or less the doctors said.

“He feels really good, every day he’s making sessions and sessions, but we have to make the step to avoid making a step backwards and being injured again.

“That’s why you need to be careful. It is important to have one training session and then another one, and every time he feels better and better.

“When the doctor says Rodri is stable and he can play, after that he is going to come back.”
