‘Midfielder a doubt’ – Roy Hodgson provides Crystal Palace injury news ahead of Bournemouth

Crystal Palace midfielder Jeffrey Schlupp is a doubt for tomorrow’s Premier League clash against Bournemouth.

The former Leicester City versatile midfielder has featured 34 times this season for the Eagles, starting six of the seven games since Hodgson returned to the club.

Palace secured Premier League safety for an 11th season in a row last week, despite losing 1-0 at Tottenham Hotspur.

“Unfortunately we’ve lost Luka Milivojevic to an injury in training this week,” said Hodgson.

“His name gets added to the ones who have been injured for a while.

“James McArthur is actually back. We’ve got a doubt for Jeffrey Schlupp, who’s been nursing a slight knock during the course of this week, so we’ll make a late decision on him.”

Beckenham-born Gary O’Neil has guided Bournemouth to 14th in the Premier League table and nine points clear of the drop zone with three games remaining.

“It’s a fantastic achievement – there’s no question of it,” Hodgson said of the Bournemouth boss.

“Anyone in football recognises the difficulty of the task that Gary’s had and appreciates the enormous job he’s done in confronting that task.

“I’m certain the people at Bournemouth must be absolutely delighted with him. He seems to have a good relationship with the players on the field – they are definitely doing what they’re asking of him.

“I have a lot of respect for him. I don’t know him well. I remember him well as a player. I shall be pleased to meet him for the first time on Saturday.”
