Millwall captain Pearce: Zohore may just have got cramp which would not be surprising
Alex Pearce praised teammate Kenneth Zohore after the striker got off the mark in Millwall colours.
The on-loan West Brom striker opened his account for Millwall with the Lions’ first goal at Deepdale in a 2-0 victory. It was his first goal since his arrival on deadline day.
Pearce said: “He’s deserved that – he came close against Barnsley and if it wasn’t for their keeper he would have got off the mark then, so he was definitely due a goal;
“I think that’s what the gaffer has brought him in for, to come up with big goals like that. So it’s very pleasing to see Ken get off the mark.”
There was concern in the second half as Zohore went down with what looked like a calf problem and was replaced by Tom Bradshaw for the final 15 minutes.
Pearce added: “I haven’t checked with the physio department yet. I think it might be cramp which would be understandable – he’s not had many minutes. I thought he put in brilliant effort in and that shows with him getting cramp but again a very positive night for Ken.”
