Millwall fined after Bristol City clash
Millwall have been fined £5000 by the FA following a mass confrontation that broke out during their 1-0 win at Bristol City on New Year’s Day.
The Lions secured all three points after Shaun Hutchinson’s striker in the 92nd minute.
Only three yellow cards – one for Bristol City and two for Millwall – were dished out by referee Tom Nield during the game.
The FA Spokesperson confirmed on Monday: “Bristol City FC and Millwall FC have been fined £5,000 each following a mass confrontation during their EFL Championship fixture on Monday 1 January 2024.
“Both clubs accepted the standard penalty after admitting that, during the 96th minute of the fixture, they failed to ensure that their players do not behave in a way which is improper and provocative.”
