Milton Keynes v Charlton Athletic team news: Bowyer hands out two debuts in EFL Cup tie
Lee Bowyer hands Charlton debuts to Ben Dempsey and Ryan Blumberg as he names a youthful eleven for tonight’s League Cup tie with Milton Keynes.
The Addicks caretaker boss makes nine changes in total from Saturday’s 2-1 home win over Shrewsbury Town – and includes a number of development squad players.
Defender Blumberg and midfielder Dempsey will get their first senior minutes for the club, with Taylor Maloney and Albie Morgan receiving their full debuts having not started a game for the club before.
Dillon Phillips and Mark Marshall are the sole survivors from the Shrewsbury victory, whilst Nicky Ajose makes his first appearance of the campaign up front.
Anfernee Dijksteel also makes his first appearance of the season after recovering from pneumonia.
The Addicks only name five on the bench, all of whom are yet to make a senior appearance for the South Londoners.
Charlton: Phillips, Dijksteel, Blumberg, Cummings, Marshall, Mascoll, Morgan, Maloney, Dempsey, Hackett-Fairchild, Ajose. Subs: Maynard-Brewer, Yao, Doughty, Stevenson, Sarpong-Wiredu
