Oliver Glasner sets winning sights on Crystal Palace’s remaining Premier League games – starting with Manchester City

Oliver Glasner wants to win every game Crystal Palace have remaining this season – starting with Saturday’s clash against champions Manchester City

The Eagles host Pep Guardiola’s side in the early Premier League kick-off as they look to end a four-game winless run under their new boss.

Palace picked up a point at The Etihad in December during Roy Hodgson’s reign – coming from two goals down to draw 2-2.

Glasner’s side are eight points clear from the bottom three but have to play City, Liverpool, Manchester United, Aston Villa, Newcastle and West Ham in their final eight games of the season.

“We have eight games – I want 24 points,” said Glasner.

“We go for winning games. If we don’t want to win tomorrow, it’s better I stay with my family.

“Enjoying the nice weather in London. It should be 21 degrees tomorrow. Going sightseeing on the hop-on hop-off [bus] – it’s brilliant. If you say: ‘It’s OK when you lose tomorrow,’ I’ll do this.

“We are competitors – we want to win the game. If I don’t have this passion to win every single game, then I will retire. I don’t like to say this is Man City – we have respect and they’re excellent.

“I was impressed by their performance against Aston Villa and I’m really impressed by Pep Guardiola and what he did over the last seven or eight years at Man City and before because I saw him working in Munich.

“But that doesn’t mean we run in with the white flag tomorrow and say: ‘Wow, congratulations for the 3-0.’ I will never do this – I can’t do this. We go tomorrow to win the game.”

The South Londoners last picked up maximum points against City at Selhurst Park in April 2015 – Glenn Murray and Jason Puncheon with the goals in a 2-1 win.

He added: “We know it will be hard work for us – a lot of running, a lot of focus, a lot of concentration, but believing in our situations and our moments.

“This is what I want to feel. Then we say maybe at the end we say congratulations to them, maybe they deserve it, but never before the game.”
