Preston midfielder to miss Millwall clash
Preston North End manager Ryan Lowe has confirmed that midfielder Alan Browne will miss this weekend’s clash at Millwall.
The 27-year-old, who captains the side, was absent from Preston’s 2-1 win over Reading on Monday after limping off in their 2-0 victory over QPR on Good Friday.
Preston are level on points with the Lions heading into this weekend’s Championship fixture at The Den, with both sides on 62.
Republic of Ireland international Browne has made 36 appearances this season for The Lilywhites.
Millwall are winless in their last four outings.
“Not good, Browney,” Lowe said to the press after Monday’s win.
“He’s going to be a few weeks off. He’s had a whack on his medial ligament, so he’s had a scan, and he won’t be with us – I don’t know how long it’ll be.
“It’s day to day. He’s in a knee brace at the moment as a precaution. We’ll have to take each day and each step as it comes.
“He’s certainly not going to be available for the next two weeks, I wouldn’t have thought, and then what it looks like after that, there’s maybe a possibility.”
