QPR boss Critchley assesses Millwall and shares thoughts on new signing

QPR boss Neil Critchley says that playing Millwall at Loftus Road presents a “great challenge” for his side.

QPR have only won once in their last 14 outings in the Championship.

Millwall are a point off the play-off places heading into this weekend’s clash in west London.

The Hoops – managed at the time by now Rangers boss Michael Beale – won the reverse fixture 2-0 at The Den in September.

“It’s a great challenge,” said Critchley.

“It’s a great game for us to look forward to.

“It’s a home game. I’m sure our supporters will be right up for the game and right behind the team.

“We know the type of game that Millwall want to play – they’re very good at it.

“Gary Rowett has done a fantastic job there with the squad he’s assembled.

“They had a good season last year and they’re right up there again – they’re in good form.

“What a great challenge that is for us, to try and beat them at home and pick up three points.

“We know what we’re going to have to do.”

QPR signed Championship veteran Chris Martin in midweek, with Lyndon Dykes recovering at home after being omitted to hospital with pneumonia.

“Chris Martin is a fantastic addition to the squad,” added Critchley.

He’s already shown his quality in training this week. He’ll play a big part for us between now and the end of the season.”
