QPR boss frustrated at final outcome as R’s draw 2-2 at Huddersfield

Mark Warburton reckoned that QPR deserved all three points against Huddersfield as they were forced to settle for a point after a 2-2 draw.

The R’s came from behind twice in Yorkshire and are 12th in the Championship.

Warburton said: “I was frustrated with the result but delighted with the performance, I think that sums it up really. We looked a good team for long periods.

“Our shape was good throughout the game and we frustrated a very good team.

“We lacked a little bit of quality, a cutting edge in the opening 30 minutes, our deliveries didn’t beat the first man or we didn’t get into the right areas, but you saw the quality for our first goal.

“Overall, we moved the ball well, we looked dangerous and I was really pleased with our decision making.

“Huddersfield have been flying recently. They have had a great run of games and performances so we knew we had to be good, and we were.

“Someone said to me afterwards that we could have nicked it with Luke’s header at the end, and I thought we deserved the win if I’m honest.

“Will 72 points be enough [to make the play-offs]? Maybe it will, maybe it won’t. We will try to win four games, get to that total and see where it takes us. With that level of performance, intensity and togetherness, we have got a chance.”
