West Ham linked with deadline day raid for Crystal Palace striker

West Ham United are reportedly considering a move for Crystal Palace striker Christian Benteke.

The 31-year-old did not want to leave Selhurst Park when Burnley enquired earlier this window.

Now The Sun are reporting that the Hammers are interested in the Belgian.

The same outlet adds that Palace are willing to do a deal as they haggle over a price for Jean-Philippe Mateta.

Mateta’s recent form has meant that Patrick Vieira is keen to keep him but the Eagles want to get the cost down.

The Sun also reports that Palace are still hanging on to hopes that Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah will turn down a move abroad. The Lewisham-born striker has also been linked with Newcastle United and Bayer Leverkusen.

Nketiah is out of contract at the Emirates this summer.
