AFC Wimbledon striker makes return to Welsh Premier League

AFC Wimbledon striker Adam Roscrow has joined The New Saints FC for an undisclosed fee.

The 25-year-old scored two goals for the Dons – both in the EFL Trophy – in 22 appearances.

Roscrow was signed by Wally Downes in the summer of 2019 from Cardiff Met.

Now he is back plying his trade in the Welsh Premier League.

Wimbledon manager Glyn Hodges told the club’s website: “In the first season it didn’t help with his injuries as he didn’t have the full pre-season to make the impact that he needed. It was a big ask for him to make the step-up from the level he was at previously, but he applied himself well and he couldn’t have worked and tried any harder. He’s a great kid and he got on well with all the boys.

“He has probably fallen down the pecking order here for the forwards. He probably found it a bit frustrating this season. Ryan Longman came in and did particularly well, and now Zach is there or thereabouts and pushing. We also have Pigs and Ollie and they are experienced campaigners, so it was a tough ask for him, but he conducted himself well.

“Now this opportunity has come up for Adam and he feels the same – he needs to go out and play, to start regularly at his age, and start banging the goals in again. We wish Adam well in his career.”
