Walworth venue will attract old fighters for reunion – with money raised going to good causes
Essex Ex-Boxers Association are putting on a reunion at Manor Place Baths in Walworth on April 21 from 12.00-8pm.
All boxers who fought at this famous South London venue will receive a medal.
There will be framed certificates for those who fought there five-or-more times, for fighters involved in “nobbins” bouts and those who made their debuts there.
There will be a record book on sale which covers all the professional contests from 1908-1978.
Money raised from this event will go to Herol Graham and the family of Scott Westgarth, 31, who died recently from injuries sustained in the ring.
Anyone wishing to place an advert in the book should contact raymond.lee9@btinternet.com. Cheques should be made payable to Essex Ex-Boxers Association, 5 Broadhurst Walk, Rainham, Essex, RM13 7HD.
Tickets can be bought on the door for £10.
