Midfielder hoping experience of survival scraps can help AFC Wimbledon

George Dobson is hoping his experience of being involved in League One survival scraps before can help him impact on AFC Wimbledon’s plight.
The Romford-born midfielder has signed on loan from Sunderland for the remainder of the season.
Dobson previously clocked up 81 appearances for the Saddlers before his switch to the Stadium of Light in July 2019.
The former Arsenal youngster, who also spent time on West Ham’s books after being released by the Gunners at 17, said: “I am only 23 but I’ve played nearly 150 games now, so I’m not a youngster in terms of the amount of matches I’ve got under my belt.
“I feel the team is in a very similar situation to when I was at Walsall. I feel I can bring a lot from what I learned there to the table, and help as much as possible.
“I’ve played quite a lot of games against Wimbledon – some good ones and some not so good ones for me personally.
“Wimbledon should be in this division. I’m coming in to try and help establish us and really kick on.
“I understand the club is basically run by the fans, which is obviously tremendous. The fans have brought me in really – with the manager’s backing. Every time I’ll try to give everything to them.”
