Northampton caretaker boss Brady claims there was a foul before Wimbledon’s winner

Northampton caretaker manager Jon Brady felt Saturday’s defeat against AFC Wimbledon was tough to take and also claimed there was a “clear push” in the build up to the decisive goal.
Joe Pigott scored in the 88th minute to secure a crucial 1-0 win for the Dons.
Northampton Town squandered a golden opportunity to rescue a point when they were awarded a penalty in the sixth minute of injury time but Wimbledon keeper Nik Tzanev pulled off a great save.
The result moves the Dons up to 21st in League One and only goal difference keeps them in the relegation zone.
Brady told Northampton’s website: “It’s a really hard one to take. We are in a dogfight and there are going to be twists and turns but even in our worst moments what we can’t do and what we don’t do is give in.
“We started okay but we struggled to get to grips with their shape, the personnel wasn’t right and that’s why we made the changes at half time. In the second half I felt we were we in the ascendancy but I was disappointed with our delivery from wide areas and we took too long to get the ball into the box.

“We weren’t aggressive enough from the front and we needed to create more. We dominated the second half territorially and in possession without really creating anything clear cut.
“For the goal there was a clear push from the corner but, regardless ,we need to defend that better.
“It’s still very tight and it’s going to go down to the wire. We were a bit lacklustre and it wasn’t the high energy performance we had against Oxford. Not enough of our players performed and there were too many who were a bit off it. As a player you should thrive in this moment and we need to play how we want to play.
“There is still a lot to play for, we are right in the mix and right now we are above that line. We will keep going right until the end.”
