Boost for Millwall as midfielder back in full training ahead of Sheffield United match
By Richard Cawley
Millwall boss Neil Harris has virtually a clean bill of health for Saturday’s vital Championship clash at Sheffield United on Saturday – with midfielder Ben Thompson now fully fit.
It leaves only Byron Webster, who is coming back from a serious knee injury, as unavailable to the Lions chief for the fixture at Bramall Lane between two play-off chasers.
Millwall moved into sixth place in the table after they won 2-0 at Bolton Wanderers on Tuesday night to make it 16 league games unbeaten.
Victory over the Blades would leave their opponents six points behind and with only three matches to play.
“Ben is back in full training today which is a boost to the group,” said Harris. “Everyone is fit and healthy, everyone wants to play.”
Harris has praised Tom Elliott for his display in midweek. The former AFC Wimbledon striker replaced Steve Morison in the starting line-up and headed the opening goal at Bolton.

Morison is expected to be back leading the line for the Lions in Yorkshire this weekend.
“Huge credit goes to Tom Elliott on Tuesday for his performance,” said Harris. “It was very, very impressive. He took his goal extremely well.
“That’s down to a desire to want to stake a claim to play and the boys doing extra training sessions every day, driving each other. The players [not in the team] are being patient. Everyone wants to be in the team and need to train to the best of their ability to be in the squad so when the opportunity comes they will be ready. Tom took his opportunity the other day.
“He gave real hope and belief to the boys waiting that if a chance comes they are in the right fitness condition and right frame of mind to step in and replicate the form of their team-mates.”
