Former Crystal Palace defender makes Dulwich Hamlet move

Dulwich Hamlet have signed Jack Holland following the defender’s release by Bromley.

The former Crystal Palace youngster captained the Ravens and also won their Player of the Year award three times.

Holland spent seven seasons with Bromley.

“Jack took some convincing because he has so much interest from the league above and in our league as well,” said Dulwich manager Gavin Rose. “I’m really happy to get him over.

“The fact we [Rose and assistant Junior Kadi] have been here so long, our commitment and consistency to the club, is something he bought into as well.

“I’ve known Jack a few years and I’ve seen him play at Palace – he was a year above Michael Chambers and Quade Taylor [who moved from Dulwich]. I’ve also watched his career at Bromley and I’ve always been impressed with his commitment, attitude and performances over such a long period of time.

“He had a lot to think about, it wasn’t like we were the only club who made an approach. You try to sell your club as best you can, and luckily Jack bought into that.”

Hamlet have also confirmed that goalkeeper Charlie Grainger will be back for a third spell with the National League South side in the 2021-22 campaign.

“Unfortunately Charlie has not finished a season with us because of the pandemic,” said Rose. “He has been a great player for us, in and out of the changing room, over that period.

“He is very professional with his outlook and always looks to help others, not just himself.

“He is very much a team-orientated person and a very good goalkeeper.”

Dulwich have also added Grenada international Tyrone Sterling. Michael Timlin, Quade Taylor and Andrew Harris-Sealy have all re-signed.
