Millwall midfielder Ryan Leonard expected to resume full training next week
Ryan Leonard looks set to return to full training next week. The Millwall midfielder has been out since February after suffering ankle ligament damage in the 4-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday.
“Lenny is making good progress,” said Lions manager Gary Rowett. “He has been dipping in and out of training with the players and it shouldn’t be too long he’s more or less in.
“I would be surprised if by next week he is not in full training with us. That would be the hope.
“He might not be able to play 60 minutes, like the other players, that will be too early – it could be 45 minutes or less. But at the same time he needs to have a chance to be fit for the first game.”
Striker Tom Bradshaw is expected to be out for another two weeks with a knock he picked up while the squad were in Scotland.
Fellow frontman Isaac Oloafe has a groin problem. His goals helped fire Sutton United to promotion last season, and he had hoped to impress his parent club.
“It is a bit of a blow because he wanted to hit the ground running and we could have a look at him in pre-season games, unfortunately we’re not going to be able to do that,” said Rowett.
