Crystal Palace loanee Conor Gallagher selected for senior England squad
On-loan Crystal Palace midfielder Conor Gallagher has been called up to the senior England squad for the first time.
The Chelsea player has been one of the Eagles’ standout performers in their impressive start to the Premier League season.
England manager Gareth Southgate has seen his selection options depleted for Monday’s World Cup qualifier in San Marino with Jack Grealish, Raheem Sterling, Luke Shaw, Jordan Henderson and Mason Mount not travelling.
Gallagher had been away on England U21 duty and featured in their victory over the Czech Republic on Thursday.
Congratulations, Conor 🙌

The 21-year-old has had a string of loan moves. His eye-catching performances for Charlton in the 2019-20 Championship season led to Swansea making a move in the January window – cutting short his stay in SE7.
Gallagher also made 30 Premier League appearances for West Brom last season.
The all-action Gallagher has scored four goals in 10 top-flight outings for Palace. Eagles fans have called for the club to make his move a permanent one. But his elevation in status to the full England camp makes that look a more difficult deal to do.
