Millwall boss pleased with Liverpool loanee Sheyi Ojo – but knows he can produce even more
Millwall boss Gary Rowett has challenged Sheyi Ojo to add more of a goal threat – pointing out that the Liverpool loanee regularly shows his quality in training.
The 24-year-old is on a season-long stay in SE16 and has started their last three matches. In total he has made 16 appearances for the South London club in all competitions.
“In the last two or three games he has certainly looked more like himself,” said Rowett. “He performed well early on here but being a forward player can be difficult.
“They need to try and be producing every game but if you are a defender and off your game you can just be really flat. People notice that less than a forward – they have got to come to life all the time. Particularly the last forward up there in our formation.
“He has worked really hard in training and started to show more what I think he is capable of. He assisted for the penalty for Benik at Bristol. On the back of these good performances we need to see a little bit more goal threat moving forward – it is something he can do, and he does it in training.
“He can beat people and get away from people using his good feet to open games up.”
