‘We dominated the game’ – Cheltenham boss Duff gives his verdict on 1-1 draw against Charlton

Michael Duff felt his Cheltenham side created enough chances to win multiple matches in yesterday’s 1-1 home draw against Charlton Athletic.

Dan N’Lundulu put the hosts ahead in the 43rd minute.

But Chuks Aneke, who sealed his return to SE7 from Birmingham City on Friday, salvaged a point as he finished in the fourth minute of second-half stoppage time.

Cheltenham manager Duff said: “We could have won four games today. You’ve got to feel for them, I think they’ve been excellent in the last three or four games.

“It’s a tough industry. It doesn’t owe you anything. It doesn’t feel sorry for you. But if they perform like that for the next 20 games we’ll be absolutely fine because they are a good team Charlton and we dominated the game.

“We did every part of the game well today but we missed too many chances. We had three or four one-on-ones, chances from set-plays and Calum [Wright] had a fresh air shot from a yard out.

“Even their lad who has cleared it from a yard out, it comes off his shin and cleared the bar. That typifies it today.”
