Former West Ham and Norwich City man on trial at Charlton Athletic

Former West Ham United and Norwich defender Elliott Ward is on trial at Charlton Athletic – and plays in today’s pre-season friendly at Welling United.
The 33-year-old is a free agent after leaving Blackburn Rovers. He spent the second half of last season on loan at Milton Keynes.
Ex-Derby County winger Simon Dawkins is another looking to win a deal with the Addicks and is part of the first-half side at Park View Road.
Caretaker boss Lee Bowyer will play two different sides in each of the 45 minutes.
Charlton (first-half team): Maynard-Brewer, Marshall, Bauer, Sarr, Page, Dawkins, Aribo, Maloney, Grant, Magennis, Ajose.
Charlton (second-half team): Phillips, Solly, Ward, Pearce, Blumberg, Morgan, Lapslie, Forster-Caskey, Taylor, Vetokele, Fosu.
Welling United: Wilks, Gibbons, Barrett, Ijaha, Orlu, Audal, L’Ghoul, Kissock, Goldberg, Coombes, McCallum.
