AFC Wimbledon set to switch striker transfer chase – as Ardley talks about respecting non-league outfit

AFC Wimbledon boss Neal Ardley has said the club have moved on from their attempts to sign Boreham Wood striker Morgan Ferrier.
The National League side released a strongly-worded statement on Saturday claiming the player’s new intermediary has attempted to move the player on “at all costs” – despite Ferrier having a specific release clause in the 16-month contract he signed in February.
The statement added that the Dons had a bid – made up of a £35,000 offer and a 25 per cent sell-on fee – rejected.
Ardley was given the chance to respond on Saturday, saying: “I haven’t seen their statement.
“As far as I’m aware Morgan was one that we’ve had a nibble at and asked the question. The response we got was a declining of our offer so as far as I’m concerned we are looking elsewhere.
“As it stands he is a Boreham Wood player and we want to do things as respectfully as we can. We’ll now start looking elsewhere.”
