Experienced Fiji international signs for London Broncos

London Broncos have signed experienced Fiji international Henry Raiwalui.

He will represent the Plough Lane-based club in 2023 following a series of impressive performances at the World Cup.

The 33-year-old proven try-scorer, who operates as a half back, played an important role in Fiji’s recent World Cup campaign which ended at the quarter-final stage of the competition against New Zealand.

Born and raised in Australia, Raiwalui arrives with more than a decade of experience playing in his country of birth and has made a dozen appearances for Fiji after making his debut in 2016 where he has since scored four international tries.

Director of rugby and performance Mike Eccles believes Raiwalui can play an important role both on and off the pitch for the Broncos.

“Henry is everything I’m looking for in a half back,” said Eccles. “He arrives to the Broncos with a wealth of experience and will be a fantastic person to have in the squad.

“He’s a real competitor and is an incredible threat when he has the ball in his hand. His leadership qualities and temperament will really add value to our team too.

“I’m looking forward to seeing Henry in a Broncos shirt next season. His enthusiasm to get on board with our vision is exciting and Henry will naturally support the development of our own two excellent young halves in Rian [Horsman] and Oli [Leyland].”
