CAST expecting more than 600 people to attend online meeting to discuss Thomas Sandgaard’s running of Charlton Athletic

Charlton Athletic Supporters’ Trust are expecting more than 600 people to attend their online meeting tonight – called over their concerns at the way Thomas Sandgaard is running the Addicks.

CAST announced their meeting at the end of last week.

Charlton are 18th in League One after the latest round of matches at the weekend. Their own fixture at Morecambe was postponed due to a frozen pitch.

The South London club are at home to Bristol Rovers on Saturday.

“We have a long history of fan engagement and activism at Charlton,” said CAST. “CAST will host an online meeting on Monday at 7pm with the goal of bringing the fanbase together to agree how we proceed from here.

“Thomas Sandgaard is then due to attend the Fans’ Forum on Thursday, December 15 when we will once again be seeking clear answers about his intentions for the club. CAST will be asking him how he intends to ensure that we are not relegated to our lowest ever league position – a major risk given our trajectory under his ownership – and about fans’ concerns regarding the on- and off-the-pitch culture.

“Most importantly, we will be asking him when he is going to sell and what kind of buyer he envisages selling to. After so many false dawns, we need an owner with the genuine desire and ability to invest in Charlton’s future.

“Over 400 supporters have already registered for the meeting, meaning that attendance is already likely to be in excess of 600.”
