Dulwich Runners have 31 athletes at Southern England Cross Country Championships
Dulwich Runners had 31 members return to Beckenham Place Park for the Southern England Cross Country Championships on Saturday, writes Jonathan Whittaker.
Two weeks of relatively dry weather resulted in a much more forgiving and faster course than the recent Surrey League race.

Kay Sheedy was back in cross country action following a recent 10km PB in Valencia, translating this pace to the shorter 7.3km course with ease – and first Dulwich finisher in 76th (31:16). Katie Styles (128th, 33:04), Becca Schulleri (143rd, 33:30) and Clare Norris (33:52, 157th) all ran well to complete Dulwich’s team with a very creditable 15th place.

The men ran a longer 14.4km course with Ed Chuck gaining in confidence as the race progressed to power home to an excellent 11th place (47:18).
Rob Armstrong (79th, 50:58) and Aaron Wilson (90th, 51:30) picked up strong top 100 finishes while Fred Bungay (114th, 52:47) and Ade Russell (116th, 52:51) enjoyed a close battle to the line.

Andy Bond (140th, 53:46) was the final scorer helping the team to ninth place and ahead of many regular South London rivals.
