Fresh injury setback for Charlton Athletic striker
Charlton Athletic striker Chuks Aneke is set to undergo a scan next week after a hamstring injury forced him off in today’s 1-0 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday.
The frontman has had a disrupted campaign and only recently returned to the first-team fold.
Aneke replaced Gavin Kilkenny in the 57th minute.
He went down in clear discomfort inside the penalty area after battling for the ball with Owls centre-back Dominic Iorfa.

Aneke was stretchered off.
“It looks like he might have pulled his hamstring,” said Charlton boss Dean Holden. “We’ll see what the scan says. Fingers crossed [for good news]. He has had a real stop-start season and worked so hard over a four or five-week period to get himself fit.”
Miles Leaburn made his return from a hip problem as he led the Charlton attack before making way for Macauley Bonne with 15 minutes to go.
“He led the line well – Wednesday had three giants around him,” said Holden. “In terms of his development, that was a real plus for us.”
