Charlton Athletic takeover resolution expected very soon – Thomas Sandgaard removes Charlton Athletic links

Charlton Athletic owner Thomas Sandgaard could be just days away from handing over control to SE7 Partners.

Sources close to the process have indicated that a resolution is likely very soon.

Sandgaard has already removed all mention of Charlton from his social media and his personal memorabilia has also been collected from The Valley.

A share purchase agreement was signed by Sandgaard and SE7 Partners at the start of June.

The final stage is for SE7 Partners to meet the EFL’s requirements.

SE7 Partners, who will own 100 per cent of the club, have said they will communicate with supporters as soon as the takeover is complete.

Charlton’s hopes of being in the promotion picture have been boosted by big-spenders Ipswich and Sheffield Wednesday being promoted. The clubs who have come down from the Championship will be nursing significant hangovers – Wigan Athletic have already been hit with two points deductions while Reading and Barnsley are also set to be penalised after breaching EFL rules.

The Addicks’ results under Dean Holden would have made them a top-eight team stretched across a full campaign.

And Holden now has a full pre-season to implement his ideas as well as adding to the squad, most notably so far the £250,000 signing of Cheltenham Town striker Alfie May.
