Leyton Orient clinch League One play-off final spot with ex-Charlton man Clare on target in penalty shootout

Charlton Athletic will face Leyton Orient in the League One play-off final if they can defeat Wycombe Wanderers this evening.

The Addicks drew 0-0 in the first leg at Adams Park on Sunday with the return taking place in SE7 tonight.

And Orient manager Richie Wellens confirmed after their dramatic penalty shootout victory over Stockport County last night that he will be at The Valley to watch the match.

Former Millwall striker Isaac Olaofe produced a clever improvised finish in the 74th minute to cancel out Ollie O’Neill’s early goal for the O’s.

But Olaofe, who played well in the second half, then failed to hit the target from a prime scoring position before the match headed into extra-time.

Orient have a significant ex-Charlton presence with Darren Pratley, Sean Clare and Rarmani Edmonds-Green in their squad. The latter two both started the tie with Clare converting the second of their penalties as they won 4-1.

Wellens said: “At the moment it is three teams in red at Wembley (Sheffield United, Sunderland and Orient). It’s my favourite colour. Let’s see if it is another one tomorrow.”
