Jayson Molumby will be staying at Millwall for the remainder of the Championship season – with no threat of a recall by Brighton.

The Republic of Ireland U21 international is on a season-long loan with the Championship club.

And the South London Press understands that Molumby’s regular involvement at Millwall means that he cannot be called back by his Premier League paymasters.

The 20-year-old midfielder made his 11th league start of the campaign in Friday night’s 2-2 home draw against Nottingham Forest.

Molumby has played every minute in six of Millwall’s last seven Championship fixtures – only missing the 1-0 victory at Swansea due to a knock picked up while away on international duty with his country.

There were no indications that Brighton would have looked to cut short the youngster’s stay in SE16.

But the fact he has been a fixture of Gary Rowett’s side has taken away any possibility of a return to the South Coast until the summer.
