ADO Den Haag appoint Alan Pardew as manager – with Chris Powell taking on assistant role
BY RICHARD CAWLEY
Former Charlton Athletic manager Chris Powell is back in club football – as assistant to Alan Pardew at Dutch club ADO Den Haag.
The duo’s appointment was confirmed this morning.
Ex-Crystal Palace boss Pardew had been linked with the post in recent weeks and was in the stands to watch their 6-1 thrashing at the hands of Ajax at the weekend.
ADO Den Haag are second from bottom of the Eredivisie.
General Manager Mohammed Hamdi: “We are very happy with the appointment of Alan, who has earned his spurs in English football. He has a lot of experience and that is important in the current situation.
“During the conversations we became very enthusiastic about Alan’s football vision. Chris also brings a lot of experience, as a player and as a trainer.”
Powell had joined England’s coaching team at the start of September.
