Millwall v Brentford: Lions switch to 5-2-3 formation as Murray Wallace and Aiden O’Brien come into side
BY RICHARD CAWLEY
Millwall manager Gary Rowett looks set to go with the 5-2-3 formation which has served him so well in their away matches – making two changes for today’s home game against Brentford.
Murray Wallace and Aiden O’Brien (pictured) come into the Lions side for their final game of 2019 with Jon Dadi Bodvarsson and Shane Ferguson dropping to the bench – both were struggling with illness for the Boxing Day draw at Cardiff City.
Millwall have won just one of their last nine matches against the Bees, drawing four and losing four. The west London side are looking to do the double over their opponents for the first time since the 1981-82 season.
Jed Wallace, who struck a sublime free-kick equaliser at Cardiff, has scored (four) and assisted (four) Championship goals at The Den – the most of any player in Gary Rowett’s squad.
Brentford, third in the table, are unchanged.
Millwall: Bialkowski, Romeo, Cooper, Hutchinson, Pearce, M Wallace, Molumby, Williams, O’Brien, J Wallace, Bradshaw. Subs: Steele, Smith, Ferguson, Mahoney, Bodvarsson, Skalak, Mitchell.
Brentford: Raya, Henry, Pinnock, Jensen, Benrahma, Watkins, Mokotjo, Da Silva, Jansson, Mbeumo, Dalsgaard. Subs: Daniels, Yearwood, Valencia, Jeanvier, Sorensen, Zamburek, Roersley.
