Dan Azeez defends English title against Andre Sterling in all-South London clash
Dan Azeez will defend his English light heavyweight title against Andre Sterling on March 20.
Lewisham’s Azeez, 30, has won all 11 professional bouts and won a unanimous decision over Lawrence Osueke to claim the vacant belt in December.
New Cross fighter Sterling has suffered back-to-back reverses but against dangerous opposition in the shape of Craig Edwards and Liam Conroy – that last reverse coming in the #GoldenContract tournament at the quarter-final display.

The four remaining light-heavys in the competition will also be on the show at Bethnal Green’s York Hall.
Azeez said: “I like to keep things traditional and winning and defending these titles is a way of proving myself.
“Andre and I train in the same gym and we’re from the same area so I know a lot about him already.
“The British title is the logical next step after the English one. If I win that, I’ll feel a great sense of accomplishment because it’s a very prestigious title.
“Beyond that, there are stages bigger than the British scene and ultimately, that’s the direction I want to be heading in.”
