Millwall set for injury update on in-form attacker
Millwall are set to get a better timescale for Aiden O’Brien’s injury – with the in-form attacker definitely ruled out until at least the end of February with ankle ligament damage.
The 24-year-old’s header in Saturday’s 4-3 win at Leeds United was his fourth goal in his last three matches but he was forced off later in the contest.
“We will know more tomorrow, if not Monday,” Millwall boss Neil Harris told the South London Press when asked about O’Brien’s absence. “We’re not going to be seeing Aiden through February, that’s for sure.
“We’re looking at least at a six to eight-week period for Aiden and that takes us into March. It is disappointing for Aiden but for us as well.
“Aiden has shown some real quality and form in the last three to four weeks, probably since Aston Villa away he has been one of our most consistent performers and a real goal threat. He has been a big miss.
“It is a blow. It comes at a time when Shane Ferguson is back fit and his impact on Saturday was hugely important to us picking up three points.”
